As soon as I started this book I knew I would be hooked until I finished it. I had to read it all in one sitting. I’ve read Until You’re Mine by Samantha Hayes so I knew this book would also be worth ruining my sleep over since I started the book at 9pm. I know it was foolish of me to start it so late but I thought I would be able to put it down after an hour and pick it back up the next day but that was not the case.
This book had multiple twists and gave clues along the way that stirred me in the wrong direction. At times I was certain that I knew what was happening but of course, there was always a different explanation that shocked me. I loved most of the characters especially the one that followed a disability. I found this to be very refreshing since a lot of authors don’t touch on this.
I find myself reading a lot of books based on suicide, bullying, abuse etc so this book really pulled me into it right away. I was always interested with the story line. I can often get bored reading certain books but I was always interested and alert while reading this. The ending in particular is what really got me, I thought it would just be a breeze through what I already pictured I knew but boy was I wrong! I became thrown into this loop of surprise and shock. It was great!
Overall, I loved this book and I especially love the author. Both of her books that I’ve read have been surprising and refreshing and I can’t wait to read more!

Review:
I’ll start by mentioning things about the layout before the story. I enjoyed how the story was told through 3 points of view. Claudia, Zoe and third person of Lorraine. I found this to be refreshing, always giving me a glance of all sides of the story. A little negative to go along with this though is that I wish each chapter labeled who it was speaking as. I often found myself reading the entire page of every chapter and trying to figure out who it was speaking, then I’d have to reread the page so it made sense. It was a little annoying at times but I got used to it as the book went on.
As for the actual story, wow! I thought I knew what was happening the entire time. I’m someone who usually easily guesses the plot and mystery behind every book and I thought that’s what happened here but I was surprisingly mistaken! This book leads you to think a certain way the entire time, making your way of thinking seem valid. I thought the main idea of the book was just to be creepy but not that mysterious. Turns out it was both! Very very creepy book, which I loved. I haven’t read many adult books and I didn’t think I was interested in that category but this book got me in the mood to read plenty more.
Overall I found this book very mysterious, creepy, refreshing, unique, it was a rush to read it. It had me feeling emotions that I didn’t know a book could pull out from me. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone!

Let me start by saying that I received this book from my best friend Mady during our book swap. We both got each other this book simply because of the title which is an insider of ours. Boy was it the best decision we ever made! A completely underrated book that deserves more attention.

I didn’t have high expectations going into this book. At most, I thought it would just be average or slightly entertaining. Boy was I blown away! This book completely captured me and had me hooked by the second chapter. I absolutely loved every character in this book, even the ones that we were supposed to dislike. I found the technology theme of this book to be intriguing, a very unique aspect. Audrey had so much depth and intelligence to her character that it often surprised me that I was actually reading through the eyes of a senior in high school. Although some of her ideas were predictable it was always entertaining. Even though, family/friends history wise, I have nothing in common with Audrey I feel our personalities are similar in many ways which is probably why I loved her so much. I felt every emotion she was feeling in the book as if it was me and that doesn’t happen often when I’m reading! I was both saddened and amazed by the story of her fathers death. The way everything connected was especially complex and admirable. I cried several times while hearing about her father and that doesn’t usually happen for a character I have no personal connection to. I couldn’t believe that Audrey was smart enough to find the explanation to the sound from the buyphone and then conducted her own app to create the same effect. Leading on from Audrey, I loved her cousin Lindsay SO much! Lindsay was probably my favorite character overall in this book. She was intelligent, fashionable, inspiring, kind, trustworthy, unique, and above all, a fun character! When I first read of her, I was sure she would somehow come to back stab or hurt Audrey in some way but if anything it was the opposite. The way Lindsay gave Nigit a chance because they had things in common even though he was considered a “nerd” was so lovely to read that it almost made me tear up. Which goes straight into another point. This book was outright HILARIOUS. I can’t tell you how many times this book made me laugh. Especially during the cafeteria scene when the Boyfriend App 2.0 was out and every girl started zapping guys into lusting after them. Even though this started quite a bit of controversy about the boys being basically “assaulted”, I just found it humorous. It’s a book people, lighten up! When Annborg zapped Blake and lead them into a kiss I was laughing so hard I was practically choking. That was the highlight of the entire book for me. Now, of course, I have to speak about Aidan. Oh Aidan, how I love you. He was the perfect guy character to have in this book. Smart, charming, funny, nerdy, and amazingly nice. I was rooting Audrey and Aidan on since the second he was introduced to the book and I’m happy that Xander didn’t get in the way of it because I was sure he would. I was pretty much freaking out when I found out that Aidan hadn’t been under the influence of the Boyfriend App 2.0 when he rushed into the room and knocked back Xander to kiss Audrey. All my mind was computing was “omg” in the most shrillest, preppy way ever. Horrible, I know. The love story is what truly made me love this book as much as I did. For Blake, honestly there is always that mean girl and she served it well. Near the end of the book you start to get a glimpse into her life but I don’t think it was enough to actually feel sorry for her, but I did enjoy her character throughout the book. Except, of course, when she told Audrey that horrible stuff about her dad in the bowling alley. Too far, Blake! I could spend hours more writing about the characters and how much I loved them, truly, but this is long enough so I’ll move into the last section.
The story line was like nothing I have ever read before. I’ve never read a book so technologically advanced and it was refreshing to read. The first half of the book was more realistic and normal and the second half was more towards a bit of fantasy, which I loved. The whole Public vs Infinitum corporation was super interesting to read about. Having this whole line of new products (pretty much apple) taking over Audrey’s generation. Also the part where we find out that Public is brainwashing teenagers into buying their products made me think about marketing in our world and wondering if things similar exist in real life. Honestly, I was surprised when Audrey went against Public, thinking that she’d just accept the scholarship and let it slide but she got that boost of confidence and stood up against the corporation which I admired her for. The news report at the end, apologizing to Audrey’s family about her fathers death was such a good transition into the last page of the book.
Overall, I loved the characters, the story line and the book in general. It was definitely something new and brought me straight out of my reading slump. It helps that I read this along with Mady who also enjoyed the book!
Solid rating of 4.5/5. The only reason that it lost a .5 is because I feel the other characters aside from Audrey could have used a little more background and personal information. Other than that, perfect!
Also, there is a second book of this series coming out next month!!! I’m pumped.
